Confidence to Continue...
"I workshopped the Love Thy Neighbor script in Paul Wolansky's Thesis Prep class in 2002. I got discouraged one night and finally tossed the script on the floor and said I was tired of rewriting this damn thing!
Paul was amused, but he told me seriously not to give up on it. He said I was almost there. "
"Film is made of gelatin and silver halides. A student film is made of much more. Blood, sweat, tears, creativity, love, joy, and pain. The talents of many artists have united - not for money - but in friendship and a common passion. You are constantly met with obstacles and technical disasters. Some people come through with flying colors. Others let you down. You work for days and nights without sleep. Sometimes it hurts. Sometimes you cry a little. However, months later, when the film is done, an audience laughs at your jokes, cries for your characters and even applauds...and you're taken off guard. By the time it happens, you almost forgot there would be a reward."
